A no good, really sucky day

( TMI: medical, menstruation, and the places where those might intersect )
Of course, that wasn't the only thing to go wrong today. The half-day I spent at work was full of more mistakes than I would have liked; partly because of the aforementioned lack of sleep, partly because one of our in-house computer programs (which comprises at least 50% of my computer use on any given workday) crashed so badly I had to restart the entire computer - a thing that has never happened to me in the entire 8 years I've worked there. And even then, I had to use a workaround, because it was convinced that I was logged into it on another machine.
Getting to the appointment wasn't easy either, because it was in the next town over - a place I used to know fairly well, but has been under a lot of reconstruction in recent years. Which meant that, instead of being sure where I was going and which bus I would need to take to get there, I needed to look at a map.
Which is when my phone decided it no longer wanted to connect to the internet.
Now, this may have been something to do with the torrential rain and howling wind that kicked up as I was trying to look up a map. Who can say? But given that I had a digital letter whose only location instructions boiled down to "go look on our website" and absolutely no connection to the internet (and was running on so little sleep), I think I did well to come up with the solution of phoning for a taxi to take me there. Even if it did turn out the place was right next to a bus stop on the route of the bus I thought I needed to get, which would have been significantly cheaper.
I did get there early enough to get something to eat at the pub across the road, but even that was ruined by a fairly drunk man deciding that I had unlocked his tragic backstory just by sitting by myself.
I was so tired after my appointment, that I went straight home instead of picking up either of the two parcels I had to collect. Sitting down to take my shoes off resulted in me having a two hour nap while sat bolt upright in an armchair, leaving me feeling more tired and achy all over.
And to top it all off, I slept through most of grumble's stream of expedition 33 - aka the thing I was using to get me through everything else that happened today 🙃
